Employing someone to design or remodel and build your most valuable asset is likely to be a nerve racking experience. Unless your project is very simple, it makes sense to at least talk to an architect or a property management company for advice before you get going on your construction. Architectects are highly skilled and professionally trained to turn your aspirations into reality. They will guide you through the design, planning and construction process whether you are constructing a new build or adapting an existing property.

First things first, before contacting an architect you will need to draw up a project brief (we can assist you with that). This is your wish-list for the project. Focus on what you want to achieve, noting down all your requirements and highlighting and problems that you may forsee that may require extra attetion. Think in terms of how you will use the space now and in the future, rather then what needs to be built. You should also try and establish your overall budget (this again we can assist you with being that costs differ greatly here in Portugal and the EU).

Fees will vary depending on the location and complexity of the project and level of the service expected from the project manager and or architect. There are many challenges that go along with building a house or renovating a property in the Azores. Having a professional who can manage the entire prokect will certainly take the pressure off of you and leave you more time to enjoy the parts of the process that you want to be more heavily involved with. Coordinating logistics and builders, and local municiapl building codes can be rather stressful and hiring a professional will ensure that all this is managed on your behalf whilst you take the lead(essentialy we are your middle-men, the eyes and ears of your project on the ground).
